The Church

The term "Church" denotes the body of Christian believers joined together for the purpose of spiritual development, Christian teaching, worship and service. It is a community of people who believe in God and who have accepted Jesus Christ, and transform lives in such way as to cause them to want to be like, think like, and act like Jesus in every area of their daily existence. We further believe that God is actively bringing about liberation for His people in the world, in every phase of human endeavor. We also believe that there is a Divine power, referred to as the Holy Spirit, which enables, motivates, and teaches the willing person to become a true and effective servant of God

We who make up the Church, organize ourselves to serve Divine ends. God gives life and power to the organism, provided the parts of the organization, do not sever themselves from Him through disobedience to His will and intent, and through overt acts of disruption. Thus, Jesus Christ is the Head  of the Church, the body of Christ. The entire "Body" is under the control of the "Head". When any part of the "Body" ignores its "head", the remainder of the "Body" suffers.

The Church, then, is the spiritual presence and activity of Christ, working in and through persons. It is made visible through its ministries of preaching, teaching evangelizing, and service. Its mission is to render service to God through service to mankind in redemption ways, under the power and direction of the Holy Spirit.

Join me as we keep the legacy alive and move our church forward under the power and direction of the Holy Spirit.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing thee in the name of the Father, Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you ....  Matthew 28:19-20
